update as of April 3 2007

Thanks for visiting my website. Here's the latest news!

I have released a commercial CD under Arktos label in Canada. The recording includes Schubert’s Piano Sonata in B-flat D. 960 and Godowsky’s “Passacaglia --with 44 variations, a cadenza and a fugue”, it is a demanding piece taking the theme from Schubert’s “Unfinished Symphony”. For purchase of this CD, please go to honens.com and then click “buy music”.

I will give a world première of a piano concerto by the Chinese composer Jin Xiang this fall. I will perform this concerto with major orchestras in China.

Through the Dorothy Klotzman Fund of The Juilliard School, I have commissioned another piano work “Yangzhuoyong Cuo” from the composer Xiaogang Ye. In 2006 I gave the world première of Ye’s “Namucuo” at my debut at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. “Yangzhuoyong Cuo” will be Ye’s second piece in the trilogy, which is dedicated to three holy lakes in Tibet.

All the very best to everyone in 2007!

Xiang
